Investigation of Direct Applicability of Modified Agricultural Waste for Contaminant Removal from Real Textile Wastewater

نویسندگان

چکیده

The textile industry produces enormous volumes of wastewater which must be treated effectively. In this study, biosorbent from the agricultural waste potato peels (PP), is environmentally friendly and easy to find everywhere, was used for treatment real wastewater. Physical modification, chemical activation, bio-hybrid high-pressure modification processes were applied PP investigate organic pollutant removal (chemical oxygen demand (COD)) inorganic (Fe2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ Cd2+) original Additionally, effects contact time (5, 15, 30, 60, 120, 1440 min) particle sizes (1.5–1.0 mm, 1.0–0.5 smaller than 0.5 mm in diameter) investigated a batch system. Application physical process presented an attractive solution COD efficiency (69.50%) efficiencies four divalent metal ions; 78.6% Cu2+, 63.6% 40% Fe2+, 34.6% Cd2+. FT-IR, SEM, EDX analysis performed reveal adsorption mechanism modified adsorbents. FT-IR results indicate that fits mechanisms, also supported by SEM images results.

Application of Chemical Coagulation Process for Direct Dye Removal from Textile Wastewater

Introduction: Since some dyes and their metabolites have toxicity and carcinogenicity potential, and are dangerous to the health of different living creatures, discharge of untreated wastewaters containing large concentrations of dye compounds into water resources is one of the important environmental problems. Therefore, in this research, the efficiency of chemical coagulation process was inve...
